The  practice of using herbs and herbal remedies to maintain, prevent, alleviate, or cure disease has been used for centuries. While the practice of herbal treatment is old, the methods have been modernized.

Dr. Dittrich uses herbal medicine and/or food therapy for a variety of medical problems, diseases, including behavioral disorders such as fear, aggression and anxiety. Many behavioral problems may successfully be treated with a combination of husbandry and enviromental changes with short term use of an appropiate herbal formula.

While our pet's can use alot of the same supplemnets as we do, our pet's may require a smaller dosage and different compound. It is important to keep the Doctor informed regarding what medications, herbs, and supplements your pet may be taking. Some therapies can interfer with the absorption or action of another. And, remember, just because herbs are natural, does not mean they cannot cause adverse or toxic effects if used inappropriatly. It is always important to remember that "natural" doesn't always mean "safe".

Common uses for herbal medicine and nutritional therapy:

* Back pain, disc problems, osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease

* Organ disease:  kidney, liver, spleen, pancrease, ect....
